Arsenal submit £45m+ bid to sign 'unplayable' star after Madueke, player is ready to say yes -…

Arsenal have submitted a bid worth in excess of £45m for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, journalist Sebastien Vidal has claimed.

The Gunners are looking to further strengthen their attacking options following a £52m deal for Noni Madueke and have stepped up their pursuit of Eze with an initial proposal.

Eze is believed to be keen on a move to the Emirates this summer, and Palace are open to negotiating the fee, despite the forward having a £67.5m release clause.

The Eagles’ stance is reportedly ‘beginning to soften’ amid strong interest from Arsenal, who are now close to announcing their fourth signing of the summer.

According to Vidal, Arsenal have submitted a bid worth £45m plus performance-related bonuses for Eze, who is ‘ready to say yes’ to the move:

Eze, who joined Palace from QPR in the summer of 2020, has developed into one of the Premier League’s top attacking midfielders during his five seasons at Selhurst Park.

The ‘unplayable’ 27-year-old made 43 appearances across all competitions last term, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists.

Arsenal are close to announcing Madueke as their first attacking signing of the summer, following deals for goalkeeper Kepa and midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.

The Gunners also remain keen on signing a new number nine amid their offseason spree, with talks ongoing for the arrival of Sporting Lisbon ace Viktor Gyokeres.
