Two clubs send transfer message after links to West Ham man – Eyes very much elsewhere

Mexican clubs Tigres and América are not interested in moves for West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez.

That’s [according to Record](https://www.record.com.mx/futbol-liga-mx-america-tigres/guido-rodriguez-jugara-en-tigres-o-america-esto-es-lo-que-sabemos), who take a very different stance to their Mexican counterparts Super Deportivo after their report on the matter today.

That claimed that Rodríguez had two options on the table this summer as he looks to leave West Ham, with Tigres and América both exploring a possible move.

Record dismiss this, though, reporting that Tigres’ board have categorically denied any interest in the West Ham midfielder. Indeed, according to insiders at the club “he’s a good player, but he’s not going that way”.

They confirm that Tigres are looking for foreign reinforcements this summer, particularly after completing a deal for Ángel Correa, but Rodríguez is not on their list.

América, meanwhile, have sent an official statement from their board. They’ve echoed what Tigres have said. According to them, despite Rodríguez having a positive relationship with the club following his time there earlier in his career, he “is not a foreign reinforcement they’re looking for”.

Both clubs, it seems, think they can perhaps do better than the West Ham midfielder at this moment in time. That’s certainly the tone from Record, who label his time at the London Stadium as ‘unremarkable’.

It seems they aren’t convinced, and the two Mexican clubs want this potential story killed off quickly after it begun.
