Manchester United are in a tricky situation, with the club experiencing extreme financial struggles due to years of financial mismanagement.
Over the Erik ten Hag era at Old Trafford, United spent around £600 million on transfers which didn’t pan out, with the club only winning the FA Cup and Carabao, whilst recording their worst ever Premier League campaigns.
Now, the INEOS ownership are tightening the purse strings, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe pushing through some rather controversial cost-cutting measures and looking for ways to boost income.
Last season the INEOS owner made around 450 redundancies at the club, also cutting funding to groups like the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association.

Ratcliffe also has developed plans to not only raise ticket prices, but also to evict the club’s longest holding season ticket holders from the stands around the dugout to turn the area into a more expensive VIP hospitality zone.
Needless to say the changes haven’t gone down well with fans, however Ratcliffe boldly claimed the measures have stopped the club going bust which would have happened by Christmas 2025 without his involvement.
One saving grace for United could have been entry to the Champions League by winning the Europa League final, bringing them £100 million in extra revenue, however a 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the final closed that door.
The Red Devils recently had another blow when unveiling their new training kit, as the kit was revealed missing a sponsor.

Following the end of last season, Tezos’ sponsorship deal came to an end, with no deal inline to replace it.
However, The Daily Mail has now reported that the Red Devils are due to announce their new training kit sponsor soon.
The deal with Tezos brought in £24 million to the club, which needless to say, is vital funds for United right now, a sum they can’t afford to go without.
Whilst it’s not yet known who the new sponsor will be, we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out.
