Earlier this week, after seeing a mock-up of the new NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition featuring a monkey on the cover instead of Angel Reese, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III defended Reese against the blatant racism. RGIII then took it a step further, though, stating that the Sky forward’s “inner circle” confirmed she does, in fact, hate Caitlin Clark.
RGIII has become known for sticking his foot in his mouth and this latest instance is no different, as Angel Reese immediately responded to him on social media and called him a straight-up liar.
“Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work,” Reese tweeted, clearly referencing RGIII’s claims.

Ryan Clark, who was also been beefing with RGIII this year, also took advantage of the opportunity to pile on the former Heisman trophy-winning quarterback.
“Desperation will force you to make things up! It’s ok to take the L & move on some times. Lying just makes it worse,” Clark tweeted on Thursday, July 10.

Clark and RGIII have been beefing over the Angel Reese/Caitlin Clark drama for a few months now. After RGIII previously suggested that Reese “hated” Caitlin Clark, Ryan Clark accused RGIII of lacking understanding of Black women’s experiences due to his marriages to white women. Clark was widely panned for his comments and eventually apologized.
