Bruno Guimaraes shares three-word message on fresh ink ahead of Newcastle United return

Bruno Guimaraes is set to return to Newcastle United pre-season training.

The summer has absolutely flown over. It seems like only five minutes ago the Newcastle United players were jumping around St James’ Park having secured a return to the Champions League.

But, here we are, the players pictured in new training kits, pounding the pitches at Benton with a pre-season friendly already in the headlights. It’s been a summer that has passed by in a flash, but here at NewcastleWorld, we’re not complaining one bit.

The lads who were on international duty are yet to head back to Tyneside for training, although it must be noted the sight of Will Osula after playing in the under-21 championships this summer is a big positive.

NUFC international players set for return

The likes of Tino Livramento, Alexander Isak, Sandro Tonali and others are yet to check back in, but it won’t be long now, with Newcastle set to take on Celtic in a friendly, their first of the summer, on Saturday, July 19.

One of that group has been living it up this summer over in Brazil, NUFC skipper Bruno Guimaraes. The summer has been filled with shots, posted to his Instagram, of fishing trips, karaoke - which can be watched above - and now some fresh ink.

Bruno Guimaraes tattoos

Earlier this summer the captain shared a shot of his Carabao Cup tattoo on his leg, but now, fresh before heading back to Newcastle, he’s got another on his neck, carrying an inspirational message. The words read: “Faith over fear.”

It’s definitely a message Guimaraes lives by, having led the Magpies to an unexpected, underdog win in the Carabao Cup final in March. Newcastle famously ended their 70-year domestic trophy drought by beating Liverpool 2-1, with goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak.
