The decision of Myles Turner to leave the Indiana Pacers in the offseason and sign a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks continues to be the talk of the town.
After 10 seasons with Indiana and just after helping the Pacers reach the franchise’s first-ever NBA Finals appearance since Reggie Miller and company did it in 2000, Turner parted ways with the team that welcomed him in the league and signed a massive four-year deal worth $108.86 million contract with the Bucks, joining forces with future Basketball Hall of Famer Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt.
Turner could have just stayed with the Pacers to aid the team in sustaining its momentum, albeit without Tyrese Haliburton for the entire 2025-26 season due to injury. He will start a new chapter in his basketball career with the Bucks, who found a way to fit Turner’s salary into their books by releasing Damian Lillard and using the stretch provision on the superstar point guard.

It has been days since Turner inked a contract with the Bucks, but it remains a major talking point in the NBA circle, which wasnotedby Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints on Thursday amid the Summer League games in Las Vegas.
From Siegel: Biggest takeaway from Summer League today: Lots of agents and team personnel still can’t believe Myles Turner left the Pacers. Very weird situation.
The buzz around Turner and the Bucks will eventually fade away, but it surely will be interesting to see how big of an impact he can have on Milwaukee, beginning in the 2025-26 season.
