How much will Omar Young's leadership affect the running back group, and how?

Both Moulton and Patterson shared on Wednesday that the transition from Betts to Young as their position coach wasn't the smoothest. They like Young, and have now gotten used to his coaching style, but moving on from Betts -- who recruited all of the running backs on the current Iowa roster -- was difficult.

At the same time, Moulton, Patterson and Washington have said that Young has brought some new things to the room that can help them grow as players and improve their productivity. For example, Patterson cited different drills and conditioning work that he's implemented this season that he hopes will add a new layer to his game.

We have yet to fully see that come to fruition, so the questions remain around the room and the coaching for a new, not-so-well-known coach without prior ties to the program in Iowa City.

What will the running backs look like to start the year? How will they develop throughout the season? Will it make the group better? How much will Young's presence change the way the run game operates?

Soon enough, Iowa fans will see how the group performs, and how much replacing Betts with Young changes things for the running backs in Iowa City.
