After finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season, Arsenal are once again reshaping their squad in pursuit of top-flight glory under Mikel Arteta.

Despite consistent progress, the Gunners are determined to take the next step—and this summer’s transfer activity signals just that.

The midfield has already been reinforced with the arrival of Christian Nørgaard from Brentford, adding steel and experience in the centre of the park. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also joined as a reliable backup to David Raya, while Arsenal’s headline signing so far is Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad—a classy, elegant defensive midfielder hailed for his intelligence and composure.

In attack, things could get even more exciting. Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres is said to favour a move to North London, and a deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is reportedly close to completion. All in all, it promises to be a huge summer at the Emirates.

But with new arrivals comes inevitable change—and now one departure appears to be sealed.

According to The Sun, Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has agreed a surprise transfer to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, in a move that has caught many fans off guard.

Reports suggest the 30-year-old Belgian is eager to join José Mourinho in Istanbul, where he’ll become part of the Portuguese manager’s ambitious plans to dethrone Galatasaray and restore Fenerbahce’s dominance in the Süper Lig.

Mourinho is said to have played a pivotal role in convincing Trossard, reportedly holding personal talks to sell his vision and secure the transfer.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 and quickly made an impression with his close control, incisive dribbling, and impact off the bench. He became a fan favourite for his energy and creativity in the final third, with former Premier League striker Craig Bellamy once describing him as “outstanding.”

However, despite flashes of brilliance, Trossard never fully nailed down a starting spot under Arteta. With minutes increasingly limited and Arsenal’s forward options evolving, the Belgian international has chosen to seek a new challenge.

In Turkey, he may finally earn the consistent recognition he’s long deserved—and under Mourinho, he’ll have a platform to prove just how effective he can be when trusted as a key figure.
