Manchester United have confirmed young striker Chido Obi has been assigned the No.32 shirt ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Following his arrival from Arsenal last year, the Danish youth international developed at a rapid rate of knots, making such a telling impression at youth level that he was awarded by his senior debut by Ruben Amorim in February.
The 17-year-old made his United bow as a late substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
That was his first of eight first-team appearances before the end of the season.
He notched his first goals in United colours in the post-season tour, scoring a second half brace in the 3-1 win over Hong Kong.
He is expected to go on the pre-season tour of the United States later this month.
Ahead of United's opening pre-season friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm next weekend, they have confirmed Obi has been given a new shirt number ahead of the new campaign, being given No.32. He wore the No.56 shirt last season.
Obi, who represented Denmark's Under-20s at the Maurice Revello Tournament last month, will have grand ambitions of taking his development to the next level in 2025/26. He becomes the first United player to have donned the No.32 shirt since Sam Johnstone in 2016/17.
Meanwhile, young defender Tyler Fredricson has also been given a new shirt number ahead of the upcoming campaign, swapping No.55 for No.33. The centre-back made his United debut on Easter Sunday, starting the 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford, before starting the 4-3 defeat at Brentford a couple of weeks later.
Diogo Dalot was also assigned a new shirt number earlier this week, being given the No.2 shirt, while Matheus Cunha has also been installed as the club's new No.10.
