Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo Will See Greater Point Guard Role But NBA Insider Says…

The biggest question for the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason is who is going to be their main point guard now that Damian Lillard is no longer part of the team. He won’t be part of the 2025-2026 season, too.

Many are leaning towards Ryan Rollins who contract was just guaranteed by the team. The returning point guard signed a three-year deal for $12 million, with the third year being a player option. He played 19 games as a starter last season in place of injured Dame.

Another player in mind is Kevin Porter Jr. who played excellent alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo from the bench. KPJ inked an $11 million deal for two years.

Although there are options, it seems the Bucks are not yet done fortifying their backcourt.

NBA insider Brett Siegel said the team is still on the market in search of another backcourt player.

Yes. Bucks are in the market to add another backcourt player to my understanding. https://t.co/zozdTzW0QL

Lots of names are being attached to Milwaukee. Most prominent of which is Chris Paul but he is looking for a new team where he will stay close to the team.

Another is Bradley Beal although reports claimed he is closer to signing with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Milwaukee Bucks might have a PG in Giannis

The backcourt the team will be looking for is someone who is more on to scoring than playmaking. Beal might be that guy.

This became more convincing when head coach Doc Rivers said during the team’s Summer League game yesterday that the will use him a lot in the point guard position.

“When I brought it up with Giannis— he thought I lost my mind,” Rivers said in the broadcast.

“Coz he already has his ball in his hands, having him bring it up all the time. Nobody pressures Giannis. He brought it up against Indiana, pressure free. The most dangerous guy on our team had the ball already.”

Antetokounmpo played a lot of point forward from seven to eight years ago and last season when they were undermanned so this is nothing new.
