Bruno Fernandes has appeared to praise Mason Mount as Manchester United continue their preparations for the new season.
The United captain returned to pre-season training on Thursday, and among those to return first on Monday was England international Mount, who is preparing for an important season in his United career after a difficult start. He joined the Reds in a £60m deal from Chelsea in 2023 but hasn't set the world alight, with the midfielder struggling with form and injuries.
Following Mount's first day back in pre-season, he posted on Instagram. The 25-year-old included several images of him on the training field and in the gym working hard as he prepares for the 2025/26 campaign.
Fernandes opted to comment on the post and simply used a GIF which showed Beckham celebrating his infamous halfway line goal against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park back in 1996.
The meaning of Fernandes' message is unknown, but it's clear he is praising Mount, and that could help the ex-Derby loanee to get back to his best ahead of the new season.
Mount started just six Premier League matches in 2024/25. He missed a sizeable chunk of the season after suffering two muscle injuries and was never able to get a consistent run in the team.
After Mount returned and scored against Athletic Club de Bilbao in May, Amorim praised the midfielder for coming back after several setbacks. "It's important for every player [to return]," Amorim said at the time. "But when you see that kind of guy working hard every day, eating well, resting, and taking ice bath. He does everything.
"When you have this kind of player, you just want to help them."
