Sacramento Kings are actively interested in services of firmer NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.
Even though initial buzz faded away, free agency still isn't over.
Some notable free agents are still without a team, and one of them is a former NBA MVP.
Russell Westbrook still hasn't agreed on a deal with any franchise, but that might change soon.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Sacramento Kings are openly looking into a possibility of bringing Westbrook to California.
"The sense I had gotten was that the Kings and Scott (Perry) have a lot of affinity for Russ, without question," Amick told Sactown Sports 1140.
However, he added, "But the backcourt is already pretty crowded, and there was concern about making it even worse."
Amick continued, "I’ve certainly been leaning in the direction of thinking that’s not going to happen. Nothing has changed roster-wise to alter the logjam that a move like that would create."
Westbrook had an okay season with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 13.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 75 games played.
