How did Cooper Flagg do in his Dallas Mavericks’ pro debut?

Cooper Flagg, the top pick in this year’s NBA draft, made his pro debut on Thursday, July 10.

The Dallas Mavericks rookie, the NBA’s top draft pick, faced the Los Angeles Lakers during the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas.

Flagg’s first points as a pro came on a slam dunk with less than five minutes to go in the first quarter. The Mavericks guard finished with 10 points, six rebounds and eight assists in his debut.

He played 32 minutes, making 5 of 21 field goals, missing all five of his three-point attempts.

The Mavericks came out on top, beating the Lakers and Bronny James 87-85. Tickets for the matchup, played in Vegas, were the high average price since Victor Wembanyama’s debut in 2023.

Ryan Nembhard led the Mavericks with 21 points.

Cole Swider led the Lakers with 22 points; James finished with eight.

Flagg and the Mavericks’ next game is Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs at 3 p.m.
