Leny Yoro has now shown the next step in his remarkable development that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim had teased in the 2024-25 campaign.
The 19-year-old Frenchman arrived at Old Trafford last summer under former Manchester United and Ajax manager Erik ten Hag from French side Lille.
Leny Yoro emerged as one of Europe’s top defensive prospects at Lille and had attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.
But United came out on top ahead of Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool in the race to sign Yoro and landed the talented French defender for an initial £52.18m fee.
Yoro missed the opening months of the 2024-25 Premier League season after he suffered an injury in United’s 2-1 pre-season defeat to Arsenal last summer.
However, the former Lille defender returned after Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager and made his Premier League debut under Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.

Amorim held a pre-season training session at the Carrington training complex on Tuesday and the Red Devils confirmed further players would arrive in the week.
The second wave of United players appeared at Carrington on Thursday and among them was none other than Leny Yoro, who impressed under Amorim last season.
Yoro showed his superb abilities in the 2024-25 Premier League season by adapting to Amorim’s tactical system for United and playing in the three-man backline.
The United defender, who often played as the left-sided centre-back amid an injury to Lisandro Martinez, impressed with his confidence and composure on the ball.
United’s official social media channels have been sharing photos of players doing an all manner of different workouts at Carrington in the pre-season training.
Among the United posts made on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, was Yoro lifting a bar during what appears to be an intense workout.
“Go on, Leny,” reads the caption for the tweet, along with an emoji.

This is why Leny Yoro’s pre-season workout at Carrington relates to what Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim said about the player
Speaking ahead of United’s FA Cup tie against Fulham in March, Amorim had admitted that he felt Yoro was “gaining muscle” behind the scenes at the club.
“He is working really, really hard,” he told Manchester United’s official website in an interview.
“I think he is gaining muscle. All these small things that you cannot see, he is doing.
“I think he is going to be a top, top, top player and he is going to have a great career here in Manchester.
“But for that, he knows that he has to prove in every match, so he is going to be ready for the next one.”
United fans have now finally seen the development that Yoro is putting into himself off the pitch to better his physicality with the demands of the Premier League.
