Sky Germany:€70m Liverpool Star“Open To Leaving”Amid Bayern And Barcelona Interest

Sky Sports in Germany has said that Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is open to leaving Anfield this summer.

Liverpool have had one of their best transfer windows yet this summer so far. They managed to firstly secure Trent’s replacement in Jeremie Frimpong, before adding his Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz for a British record fee.

Then, Arne Slot also added Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez to add to what is already one of the best squads in world football. Everything at Anfield is looking rosy ahead of next season, although there is a doubt over the future of one of their attackers.

Luis Diaz has been subject to transfer interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and a recent update from Sky in Germany has suggested that the Colombian winger is open to leaving amid this reported interest in him.

Florian Plettenberg posted on X: “Understand LuisDiaz has once again made it clear that he is open to leaving Liverpool if a really exciting offer arrives.LFC have been informed.

“However, they have blocked everything so far (FC Bayern, Barcelona, etc.) Max Eberl has held new talks with Diaz’s management in recent days. As reported, Bayern remain keen on Diaz. There are still no agreements or offers. It is complicated, but Bayern are trying.”

It is not understood yet if Liverpool are willing to sell Diaz, but the 28-year-old has an estimated market value of €70m (£60.6m), so they could get a good return for the winger if they were to sell him.

Who could Liverpool replace Diaz with?

Last season, Diaz made 50 appearances for the Reds, scoring 17 goals, and providing eight assists. He will leave big shoes to fill, but Liverpool have been linked with some very talented wingers, so they could manage it.

Liverpool have recently been linked with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who has previously attracted interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. He is expected to command a fee of as much as £77.5m, so if they sell Diaz, he could emerge as a real possibility.

In terms of a replacement, it couldn’t get much better than Rodrygo, who, last season, scored 14 goals, and provided 11 assists; very similar numbers to Diaz, plus the Real Madrid star is four years younger.
