Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the appointment of Paulo César as the new head coach of the women’s team. He has signed a contract until June 2027, following a successful stint as interim head coach of the senior squad.
Prior to his interim role, César enjoyed a highly successful spell with PSG’s U19 team, leading them to victory in the French U19 Championship.
When he stepped in as interim head coach, César guided the senior team to the final of the Arkema Première Ligue Playoffs. That performance secured the team a place in next season’s [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/).
“Being appointed head coach of the Paris Saint-Germain women’s team is a tremendous honor and the realization of a goal I’ve pursued for many years,” said Paulo César.
“I feel deeply connected to this club, its values, and this women’s section, which I’ve seen grow over time. I take on this responsibility with great enthusiasm and determination, I will devote all my energy and experience to this incredible project, to help the team keep progressing and proudly represent the Red and Blue.”
As PSG prepare for the upcoming season—including Champions League football and the challenge of competing with OL Lyonnes domestically—the club continues to strengthen its squad.
One of the most high-profile signings this summer is Olga Carmona, who joins from Real Madrid on a contract running until 2028. While Real Madrid did offer her a contract extension, Carmona was ready for a new challenge abroad.
During her time at Real Madrid, Carmona made 186 appearances, scored 28 goals, and delivered 25 assists. She also captained the team in her final season. Her leadership and consistent performances have earned her widespread acclaim, including:
