Arsenal will reportedly sign 23-year-old English winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a deal worth over £50 million, with the highly-rated attacker signing a five-year contract.
According to a report by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Noni Madueke has been the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners have been keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. So, the 23-year-old Chelsea winger has been on the North London club’s radar for a long time.
The Premier League bigwigs have struck an agreement to sign the highly-rated Englishman from Chelsea in a deal worth over £50 million, including add-ons. Madueke will sign a five-year contract with Arsenal, and the two London clubs will “exchange all documents on Friday”. In addition, the Gunners are scheduling a medical for the former PSV Eindhoven winger.
Noni Madueke and his 18 months at Chelsea
Noni Madueke has made considerable progress since joining Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. In particular, the 23-year-old has established himself as a pivotal figure for the West London outfit under Enzo Maresca, becoming a regular in the final third in the 2024/25 season.
The English international has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Chelsea while chipping in with 20 goals and nine assists. Meanwhile, Madueke’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. The youngster’s next destination will be Arsenal, and his 18-month stint with Chelsea will end soon.
Move across London on the horizon
Arsenal’s interest in Noni Madueke makes sense. The Gunners have been combing the market for a wide attacker in the summer transfer window as they aim to reduce the growing over-dependence on Bukayo Saka in the final third. With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard not being consistent enough, Mikel Arteta wants another winger in his squad.
So, Madueke has been a viable target, with Arsenal striking an agreement over a deal worth over £50 million to sign the 23-year-old Englishman from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The North London outfit will pay a package of £52 million, including add-ons.
Arsenal and Chelsea will “exchange all documents on Friday”, with the Gunners scheduling the English winger’s medical tests. So, a new adventure is on the cards for Madueke, and he will hope to establish himself as one of the best players in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta’s tutelage.
