Crystal Palace removed from Europa League as Premier League rival set to replace

UEFA have confirmed that Crystal Palace will be kicked out of this season's Europa League.

The club will now play in the Conference League as Nottingham Forest — who finished seventh in the Premier League last season — are set to replace them in UEFA's second-tier competition.

The governing body's decision stems from Palace breaching its multi-club ownership rules and UEFA said the Eagles could appeal its ruling with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Eagle Football Holdings, which is owned by American businessman John Textor, holds stakes in Palace and Lyon.

UEFA rules stating that clubs owned, to a certain threshold of influence, by the same person or entity cannot compete in the same European competition.

A deadline of 1 March 2025 was set to show proof of multi-club ownership restructuring, which Palace missed.
