FC Barcelona is currently in a position where the club continues to assess various market operations. After all, the Catalan giants cannot afford to make careless mistakes with their limited budget. However, it also does not mean that Barcelona should be too complacent.
After all, if the club wastes too much time pursuing a certain target they might just slip away from them. Unexpected occurrences can completely derail negotiations, and the complicated failure of the Nico Williams operation proves this.

However, it seems clear enough now that Barcelona are looking at Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford as their most feasible target this summer. Moreover, they might have just been handed a boost with another potential suitor pulling out from the race.
As highlighted by SPORT, Jose Mourinho and Turkish side Fenerbahce have decided not to pursue the signing of Rashford this summer. Despite being linked to the English winger in recent weeks, they have decided not to go for him due to certain factors.
The main reason behind this, as per the report, primarily revolves around the financial aspects of the operation. Considering his significant salary, the Turkish side believes that it would not be able to afford a salary close to that and have thus decided to back away completely.

Interestingly, Mourinho has previously coached Rashford as well during his time as head coach of Manchester United. Yet, despite this former link, even the player himself was reportedly not too keen about joining the Turkish side as he wants to continue to play at the top European level with a club that can offer him that opportunity.
As for the links to Barcelona, they continue to get stronger each and every day. The most recent update even highlights that the player has dropped a major hint in regards to his next destination this summer following issues with current club Manchester United, and that Hansi Flick has even given the green light for the operation concerning the 27-year-old forward.
