The Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line has gone through a fair amount of change this offseason, but one position that didn't change was right guard with Trey Smith.
There was a thought that if Smith and the franchise couldn't agree to an extension, he might be playing his football elsewhere in 2025, but the Chiefs franchise-tagged him, keeping him with the organization for at least another year.
But just because he's now playing on the franchise tag, doesn't mean he has stopped looking for that big, new, shiny contract.
Speaking on the Up & Adams Show, Trey detailed that he isn't worried about his potential new contract; it's all about football.
"I leave it to the hands of my agents," Smith said. "Obviously, the front office staff of the Chiefs are elite, and you know, at the end of the day, I just let them take care of it. I just have to focus on being the best version of myself, being the best football player and being prepared for training camp because St. Joe's is around the corner."

The Chiefs' offensive line this offseason has seen some new faces come in, with Jaylon Moore signed as a free agent, while Josh Simmons was drafted in the first round. Plus, former left tackle Kingsley Suamataia is shifting inside to left guard to replace Joe Thuney.
So, there has been some moving and shaking in front of Patrick Mahomes, and some are using that as a reason to doubt Kansas City's ability to climb the NFL mountain again.
Smith, along with Creed Humphrey and Jawaan Taylor, will be tasked with bringing this offensive line's production up and protecting Mahomes well enough so No. 15 can utilize the weapons at his disposal.
And as far as the looming contract extension? It's clear Smith isn't too worried about it.
