Sky Sports: Euro club to go 'all-in' for Man Utd 'superstar', he's their top priority

Barcelona are ready to go 'all in' for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford this summer after making him their top target, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The England international has been outcast by manager Ruben Amorim following a public spat in the 2024/25 season, which saw Rashford sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of the season.

He has now been told to stay away from the first-team following the start of pre-season, despite being willing to give 100% and fight for his place in the squad, with a move away from the club expected to happen.

Rashford, who has been described as a 'superstar', has emerged as a top target for the Catalan giants this summer after their interest in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams was blasted away when he shockingly signed a new ten-year contract instead, despite having agreed terms over a move to the Camp Nou.

The 27-year-old is set to leave Man Utd after a 20-year affiliation from the academy set-up, where he has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the first-team, more than anyone else still on the club's books.

Talks are ongoing between the two clubs to find an agreement over a deal. Barcelona are believed to prefer an initial loan deal, while Man Utd want £40m in a permanent sale.

But now Hansi Flick has given the deal the green light too, and Barcelona chiefs are working to make it happen.

Rashford has made a move to Barcelona his priority despite interest from other clubs, and is said to be willing to make a big push to make the move happen, including taking a pay-cut from his £350,000-a-week wages at Old Trafford.

Barcelona had previously been looking at Liverpool star Luis Diaz too, but Anfield chiefs have made it clear they don't want to sell and have set his price as too high for them to be able to afford.
