Celtic could make a surprise move to land former Everton and England star Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the coming weeks, according to reports - though the club may be put off by his wage demands.
Calvert-Lewin left Everton at the end of June after his contract ran out, with both parties failing to come to an agreement on an extended contract for his services - and that has seen interest form from across the continent, with the Hoops being one side who are keen on adding him to their striking contingent.

The report by CaughtOffside states that Celtic are among the 'numerous clubs' considering a free transfer for the former Everton star, having run his contract down to end a nine-year stay at Goodison Park.

The 28-year-old has been a free agent for the best part of two weeks, and he has interest from the Premier League and abroad - though wage demands could be an issue for the Hoops.
Sources close to CaughtOffside have claimed that Calvert-Lewin is likely to ask for around £100,000-a-week from his next club, and that would be way out of the Hoops' demands - though hope is not lost in a deal to secure the talents of the former England international just yet.
A move for Calvert-Lewin would appeal due to his status as a free agent, as well as his 57 goals in the Premier League for the Toffees, 29 of which came in two seasons under Carlo Ancelotti as he scored 13 and 16 respectively in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 campaigns.
Celtic currently have Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda as their two striking options, with Johnny Kenny as a young third-choice - but a new man could be needed to complement Idah, and Calvert-Lewin fits the bill, especially as he is just 28 years of age.
Brendan Rodgers' side won the domestic double last season, only failing to win the treble after losing on penalties to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final - and they'll want to avenge that blemish on their record by doing so again next year, with Calvert-Lewin's firepower being a huge plus.
