Leeds United could potentially make a concrete approach for Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach soon as reinforcements are eyed at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke has lost Rangers star Joe Rothwell ahead of next season after his impressive loan stint at the Whites from Bournemouth.
The West Yorkshire outfit have been working on bolstering their backline this summer, but missed out on a concrete target like Habib Diarra to Sunderland.
Hoffenheim want £17million for Stach amid interest from the Peacocks, and a deal may be advanced quickly if 49ers Enterprise make an offer.

Hoffenheim haven’t received bids for Stach amid Leeds United transfer interest
Leeds haven’t put any bids forward to Hoffenheim for Stach as things have gone a little bit quiet, Joe Donnohue said.

The Leeds Live journalist revealed that while things are a bit less advanced when it comes to the 26-year-old midfielder’s potential move to Elland Road, the Whites still hold an interest.
Donnohue feels the West Yorkshire outfit clearly want the Germany international, but other teams are monitoring him as well.

Speaking on the Inside Elland Road Podcast (10 July), the journalist said: “The Stach situation, I mean, it’s gone a little bit quiet. But quiet doesn’t necessarily mean that things are done. Leeds still hold an interest in him.
“As far as we understand, it’s not like bids have been put forward to Hoffenheim. So, that one is maybe a little bit less advanced.
“Certainly, the interest is there. And, certainly, there is interest in Stach from other teams as well, which is going to be a common theme of this summer.”
Stach transfer needed for Farke at Leeds
Leeds’ pursuit of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff has hit a dead end after a disagreement over transfer fees.
It’s clear that the Whites are looking to bolster their engine room ahead of next season, but it remains to be seen who they will be able to sign.
Douglas Luiz has also been linked with a move to Elland Road as Juventus look to sell him this summer.
Leeds have already reinforced their backline with multiple additions, and should now shift focus on signing a new goalkeeper, midfielder and attackers.
Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev’s injuries last season gave Farke a massive headache, but Ao Tanaka’s emergence and partnership with Rothwell gave the German manager relief.
The Whites will evidently need to improve their quality in depth if they hope to avoid embarrassment in the Premier League.
Only time will tell whether the 49ers will attempt to sign Stach from Hoffenheim or move on to other targets.
