Liverpool confirm tributes to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva at Preston match

Liverpool’s first fixture since the devastating loss of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva will be marked with a series of heartfelt tributes.

The Reds travel to Deepdale on Sunday to face Preston North End, where both clubs have planned commemorations to honour the brothers and give supporters the chance to pay their respects (via Liverpool FC).

Special plans to remember Jota and Silva at Deepdale

Supporters attending the 3pm kick-off have been asked to take their seats by 2:45pm as a sign of respect.

The tributes will begin shortly after, starting with Claudia Rose Maguire performing Can’t Help Falling In Love.

The stadium will then join together to sing You’ll Never Walk Alone while Preston captain Ben Whiteman lays a wreath in front of the away supporters in the Bill Shankly Kop.

A minute’s silence will follow, with digital displays across the big screen and LEDs paying tribute to Jota and Silva.

Both Liverpool and Preston players will wear black armbands throughout the match.

Preston have created a special 16-page commemorative programme, which will be handed out free to all supporters attending the fixture.

The publication contains written tributes to the brothers and will be distributed by staff around the ground.

The game will be shown live on ITV 1 in the UK, LFCTV and All Red Video, with coverage starting from 2:15pm BST.

Liverpool’s own pre-match broadcast will stream on the club’s social channels and YouTube until kick-off.

Jota and Silva died in a tragic car accident as they travelled across Spain to catch a ferry back to the UK ahead of pre-season training.

Sunday’s match will serve as a collective moment of remembrance and reflection for everyone touched by their passing.
