ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers hosted eight Wisconsin high school football teams for competitions on Friday.
They included a 7-on-7 passing tournament and lineman challenge on the Titletown football field.
“Being an NFL Franchise, being community owned, getting these kids out here to Lambeau, to Titletown, giving them the opportunity to compete on this stage at this level is something that we love and want to keep giving back as much as we can,” Packers football outreach coordinator Jake Krueger said.
We won’t know for several years if there’s a future NFL Draft pick in here, but the public is invited to come out and cheer them on through Friday afternoon.
Other activities include a 40-yard dash, strongest man and longest pass contests, and a tug-of-war tournament with a championship game before wrapping up the day at 5 p.m.
The event is part of the NFL and Nike’s “11-on” initiative which promotes team play over individual play for all eleven athletes on both sides of the ball.
