Sam Waller, in yellow, comes out of his goal to gather the ball under pressure from a Forest Green Rovers player during a matchRex Features
Crewe Alexandra have signed Burnley goalkeeper Sam Waller on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old has come through the Clarets' academy but is yet to break into the first team at Turf Moor.
Waller got his first taste of senior football during the second half of last season, when he made 20 appearances on loan in the National League with Rochdale.
He becomes the Alex's third signing ahead of the new League Two season, a week after boss Lee Bell said the club were "not panicking" over their recruitment so far.
The club say Waller will compete with another young keeper, 20-year-old Tom Booth for the number one spot, following last season's first choice Filip Marschall's return to parent club Aston Villa.
