Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield Tees It Up with Fellow QBs at American Century Championship

It's just 10 days until rookies arrive for the 2025 edition of Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp, with veterans arriving a day later.

It's expected to be a competitive season for the Bucs, who seemingly made strides in their attempt to improve Todd Bowles' defense ahead of next season.

Two of the opponents that Tampa Bay will meet in the upcoming campaign are the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

But Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield is seeing Bills QB Josh Allen and Seahawks QB Sam Darnold much sooner - this weekend - at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament.

"#Bucs QB Baker Mayfield is golfing in the American Century Championship celebrity tournament in Lake Tahoe starting this morning," Matera posted on X. "He tees off at 9:15 and is playing with QBs Josh Allen and Sam Darnold. All are from the same draft class. Baker also plays against them this season"

The tournament is being held at Edgewood Tahoe, a George Fazio-designed course that's ranked in the top 100 courses by numerous media outlets.

The tournament is recognized as the country's top celebrity golf competition. It has featured 2023 champion Stephen Curry, Justin Timberlake, Wayne Gretsky, Michael Jordan, John Elway, Charles Barkley, Tony Romo, Annika Sorenstam, Jerry Rice, Aaron Rodgers, and countless Hall of Famers, All-Stars and All-Pros among its hundreds of participants.

Mayfield and the Bucs will meet Allen and the Bills in the preseason on Aug. 23 and in the regular season in Buffalo on Nov. 16. Then Tampa Bay will see Darnold and the Seahawks on Oct. 5 in Seattle.
