Nottingham Forest are back in action on Saturday 12 July when the Reds face Chesterfield at the SMH Stadium (kick-off 2pm BST).
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side returned to the Nigel Doughty Academy earlier this week to begin preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign, in which Forest will compete in European competition for the first time since 1995/96, as well as our fourth successive season in the Premier League.
Forest achieved the Club’s highest league finish since 1994/95 last season, with the Reds finishing seventh in the top flight.
The Spireites have faced Matlock Town and Burton Albion so far in pre-season, suffering defeat against Matlock on the road before overcoming the Brewers 5-0 at the SMH Stadium.
Head to head
Forest faced Chesterfield in our opening pre-season friendly before the 2024/25 season, with the Reds running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Chris Wood, Josh Bowler and Ibrahim Sangaré.
In league and cup fixtures, the two clubs have faced each other 25 times with Forest winning nine of those games and the Spireites claiming victory 11 times. The remaining matches resulted in draws.
We’re pleased to confirm all our pre-season fixtures can be streamed on our website and app.
A limited number of tickets remain for this fixture. More information is available here.
Weather warning
We’d like to advise supporters to take precautions at the SMH Stadium as the Forest end will be in the sun for the duration of the game. Please ensure you apply suncream, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight where possible as temperatures are expected to be over 30°c.
