After a few days of waiting patiently, knowing the deal was all but done and awaiting official confirmation, Anthony Elanga has finally been unveiled by Newcastle United.

A £52m deal that could rise to £55m and a long-term contract signed, seeing the club land a new right winger ahead of a huge 2025/26 campaign both domestically and in Europe ahead of our return to the Champions League.

Eddie Howe has been sharing his thoughts on the 23-year-old’s arrival and is clearly delighted to have him, hailing the qualities he’ll bring, our long-term pursuit and the fact we’ve secured him in the “early part” of pre-season.

Reacting to his arrival, Howe said: _“I’m delighted to welcome Anthony to Newcastle United. He has been a key target for us, so I’m delighted to secure him at this early part of pre-season._

_“He is an exciting talent with attributes that make him a unique attacking threat. His pace, energy and ability to create and score goals will strengthen us and complement the way we want to play._

_“Anthony is hungry to develop even further with us and to achieve success here, and we’re all looking forward to working with him.”_

Elanga feels like the perfect Howe player. Lightning fast, extremely fit, full of energy, willing to learn and able to play down both flanks, with the Swede able to use both feet to good effect.
