In a major development in the transfer saga of Victor Osimhen this summer, Napoli have rejected a formal offer for the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen spent all of last season on loan at Galatasaray, being no part of Antonio Conte’s plans in Italy.
However, during his time with the Turkish giants, the 26-year-old grabbed 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games, helping the side claim yet another Super Lig title.

Now, Galatasaray are looking to retain their star striker, preventing Manchester United from signing one of their top targets as they view Victor Osimhen as an ideal replacement for Rasmus Hojlund.
However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Napoli have rejected Galatasaray’s offer of £60 million, with the Serie A champions wanting the full £65 million release clause for their star.
Previously, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis commented that the club would only part with Osimhen if his release clause was met, with the Italian club holding firm on this view.
However, Osimhen is on the Turkish club’s side as he wants to remain in Turkey, making his loan with Galatasaray permanent.

As such the door isn’t quite closed for United to land their key striker target, however, with sales needed at Old Trafford to generate funds for any new signings, Galatasaray still have time, and Osimhen on their side.
