Basketball superstar Donovan Mitchell and award-winning singer and actress Coco Jones announced their engagement on Friday June 11, 2025.
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar guard Donovan Mitchell is engaged!
On Friday July 11, 2025 he shared a photo embracing his new fiancée, Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter and actress Coco Jones.
Fittingly, the post had Jones’s song “You” attached to it.
“I wanna be living with you, we go together/Like brand-new shoes in perfect weather/Lil’ mama fine and he a dime piece/Gotta be from Heaven, looking like my blessing,” Jones sings in the R&B hit.
Mitchell also shared a video of him popping the question, which he did while on a tropical vacation according to TMZ Sports.
Many celebrities congratulated Mitchell and Jones in the comments of their social media posts including former WNBA star Chiney Ogwuimike and actress Keke Palmer.

How Long Have Jones and Mitchell Been Together?
Rumors of a romance between Jones and Mitchell began circulating back in July 2024, when Jones was hanging out with Mitchell at Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin’s famous “White Party”.
It’s a common misconception that Jones went to support Mitchell at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Mitchell was not on the Team USA Olympic Basketball roster.
But, they were spotted holding hands at an Usher concert in September 2024.
Jones confirmed their relationship on an episode of the “Club Shay Shay” podcast in March 2025.
“I love the internet, because they definitely clocked my tea. Little spies everywhere, like I’m in a detective movie,” Jones said on the podcast.
All in all, Jones and Mitchell have been together for two years, a representative of Jones confirmed to TMZ Sports.
What’s Next For Jones and Mitchell?
Jones just finished up her “Why Not More?” performance tour. The tour began on May 6, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and ended on June 26, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee.
In September, Jones will embark on the European leg of her “Why Not More?” tour. The tour begins on September 10, 2025 in Cologne, Germany and ends on September 19, 2025 in London England.
The tour also has stops in Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris.
As for Mitchell, he is gearing up for the 2025-26 NBA season. The NBA has not yet announced the Cavaliers’ schedule, so no one knows when their first game of the season will be yet, but it will be sometime in late October.
Cleveland recently added star guard Lonzo Ball to team up with Mitchell, Darius Garland and the rest of their squad. The Cavaliers roster is as talented as ever.
The Cavs are hoping to make a deeper run in the NBA playoffs after losing to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 5 games this past season. This was a disappointing result for the Cavs, who finished at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a 64-18 record and were favored to make the NBA Finals.
