Fabrizio Romano reveals Chelsea transfer opportunity that Leeds United should consider - View

Leeds United are in the market for a striker this summer, and their interest thus far has been focused on a Premier League-hardened option, but another could be on the market this month from Chelsea.

Getting into a position where Leeds are good enough to stave off fears of relegation next season will require Daniel Farke to find a new goalkeeper and striker, in order to be as ruthless as possible in both boxes.

A goalkeeper signing goes without saying, but despite Joel Piroe hitting 19 in the Championship, someone to truly lead the line is required.

Leeds lodged an opening offer of £26million plus a further £6million in add-ons, which was rejected by the Craven Cottage club, but transfer developments at Fulham do suggest the possibility of their stance softening.

Fulham have been heavily linked with moves to sign new strikers this summer, including a bid for Goztepe’s Romulo as well as strong interest on Genk’s Tolu Arokodare.

Leeds have been claimed to be planning to lodge a second bid, and in the process would be heading towards club-record territory after Georgi Rutter’s £36million move in 2023.

Could Leeds United pursue Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson after new Fabrizio Romano reveal?

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chelsea’s heavy investment once again this summer has seen them add two new strikers to the squad in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Those signings have firmly pushed Nicolas Jackson down the pecking order having been a firm starter with 24 goals and 10 assists in his last two seasons, but Fabrizio Romano’s latest update suggests he could be leaving:

🚨🔵 Nicolas Jackson has chances to leave Chelsea this summer.

After Noni Madueke to Arsenal, he could be the next one to try new chapter elsewhere.

AC Milan seemingly being priced out of the deal does suggest he’s not going to come cheap, a player the Blues paid £32million for back in the summer of 2023 and contracted until 2033, meaning he’ll have lost very little book value on PSR terms.

However, if Leeds are wanting to sign a striker that can lead the line, press effectively, create chances and score enough to make Farke’s side a survival candidate, Jackson might be worth a look.

At 24 with two successive seasons of double-figure goal tallies in the top flight, he might have suitors much higher up than Leeds, but it has to be worth a look.

The money is clearly there for a striker after the Muniz reports, and if the Brazilian isn’t attainable, Jackson might be someone to consider.
