Leeds United in Sean Longstaff transfer clue amid £10m 'agreement' message

Leeds United have had a busy summer transfer window so far as Daniel Farke's side prepares for a return to the Premier League.

Striker Lukas Nmecha has joined on a free transfer from German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg as the Whites seek reinforcements up front. Leeds have also signed Jaka Bijol from Udinese, with the centre-back arriving at Elland Road for a fee of around £15million.

And Sebastiaan Bornauw has joined from Wolfsburg for a fee in the region of €6m (£5.1m), while Swedish full-back Gabriel Gudmundsson arrives for £10m from Lille. So, the question is, what's next for the Whites?

Below is a look at the latest media reports surrounding Leeds as well as a view on each one...

Longstaff clue

Leeds have been told how much Newcastle may want for Whites-linked midfielder Sean Longstaff this summer.

"Longstaff seems to have fallen out of favour at Newcastle," said former Magpies defender John Anderson on BBC Radio Newcastle, via BBC Sport. "Even when he wasn't starting, Eddie Howe would always bring him on in games but since January he has fallen down the pecking order.

"He wasn't getting as much game time as he would have to wanted either, so he needs the move because he needs to be playing football. Everyone knows that Newcastle's midfield three picks itself now but the deal has got to be right.

"You can't let sentiment get in the way because if you want to progress and move forward then these decisions have to be made. I think Leeds' offer of £10m is too low and he is worth at least £15m if not more because of the experience he brings."

LeedsLive says: "Longstaff would be an excellent signing for Leeds. His Premier League experience is just what they need on their return to the top-flight."

'Agreement' message

Leeds have reportedly been told that they may need to pay around £10.4m to reach an agreement with Nice for winger Jeremie Boga.

Turkish outlet Takvim claim that Trabzonspor have taken an interest in the 28-year-old and have bid around £7.8m. It is claimed that the offer comprises an initial loan with an option-to-buy clause attached.

And it is suggested that Trabzonspor could face competition from England in the form of Leeds and Sunderland with Lille said to value him at around £10.4m.

LeedsLive says: "Boga's stats were extremely unconvincing last season with just three goals across all competitions. I think the Whites' money is best spent elsewhere."
