Manchester United would be “crazy” to agree a £10million deal after secret talks have been revealed.
Ruben Amorim’s side endured a challenging season in 2024-25 after finishing 15th in the Premier League table.
They were also beaten by Tottenham in the Europa League final in May, ensuring there will be no European football played at Old Trafford next season.
The Athletic reported on 7 July Man United have withdrawn from secret talks over a record-breaking Amazon Prime access-all-areas documentary next season after concluding it could distract from the progress of the first team.
The news outlet said the Manchester giants spent several months in negotiations with Amazon over a deal worth significantly more than £10million.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it says a lot United were considering sanctioning a documentary when they are in the middle of a “crisis”.

Man United are in ‘crisis’ after new reveal
Borson insisted it would have been “crazy” for United to green light an Amazon series.
He told Football Insider: “It says a lot that they were even considering it really in the middle of what is a crisis.
“We’d all love to watch it and that says it all, doesn’t it?
“I think that they’ve made a sensible decision.
“I don’t think £10million is good compensation for a scenario where it can go as badly wrong as it could do.
“The risk there of an unstable season and then the media clipping that you get if it goes wrong in that season is big.
“I think they’d be crazy to do it and, sure enough, it doesn’t look like they are going to.”

The England international has been heavily linked with a move away from Amorim’s side, but his £40million price tag is putting interested parties off.
The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he registered four goals and six assists in 17 appearances.
