Footage of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson consoling a fan outside Anfield as they paid their respects to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva has gone viral. The footballing world is continuing to mourn the shock passing of the brothers, who died following a car accident in Spain as Jota attempted to catch a ferry in order to return to Merseyside for pre-season training.
On Friday, the club's players and staff, as well as Jota's wife Rute, gathered outside Anfield to lay flowers and view the hundreds of thousands of shirts, scarves and messages left outside the stadium by fans. However, one moment caught by a supporter was shared online as Alisson stepped in to console one person who had been reduced to tears.

In the footage shared on social media, the former Roma shot-stopper could be seen walking among a sea of memorial gifts with his wife, as one fan can be heard audibly crying after seemingly becoming overwhelmed with grief. Despite appearing to be about to walk in a different direction, Alisson stopped in his tracks to approach the woman, console her, and make sure she was okay.
Unsurprisingly, the reaction online has been overwhelmingly positive towards the 32-year-old, with many commending the Brazilian for taking time, during his own struggles to come to terms with the situation, to ensure that others were being looked after.
Alisson was unable to attend Jota's funeral just a couple of days after his death, but later attended the seventh-day mass for the striker alongside teammate Luis Diaz.
In the aftermath of the striker's death, Alisson posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying: "Usually, I post things that make sense, but today, nothing makes sense! Once again, an ocean separates me from 'saying goodbye' to someone I love! But I know that I am well represented by my club mates!
"To you, my friend @rutecfcardoso14, just know that you will never walk alone, we will be with you as soon as possible!"
