Andre has already made his feelings on Wolves crystal clear amid links to Juventus - opinion

Wolves supporters would be hurt by the prospect of Andre leaving Molineux this summer after becoming a fan favourite in his first season.

The 23-year-old has created an everlasting impact on the Wolves fanbase following his arrival from Fluminense in 2024.

An incredible ball-playing midfielder, who also boasts an aggressive tackling style out of possession, Andre has formed a remarkable partnership with Joao Gomes in the engine room.

Andre produced incredible numbers during the 2024/25 campaign, even outperforming Kevin De Bruyne for his long passing, with such form prompting unwanted transfer attention.

Juventus have shown an interest in Andre as a possible replacement for Douglas Luiz, and while that will worry a fanbase used to losing their best players, some recent comments from the Brazilian will offer hope of him staying.

Andre is eager to ‘build a great story’ at Wolves

It was only a matter of time before a Champions League club registered interest in the midfield metronome. After all, Andre is one of the best in the Premier League in his position.

Naturally, supporters will panic that someone of Andre’s calibre will be next to leave, and if a huge offer comes in, there’s even more chance of that happening.

However, when discussing his debut campaign at Wolves, Andre was ‘surprised’ by how good the Wolves fans were and is determined to ‘build a great story’ in Wolverhampton.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

“I confess that I was very surprised by the reaction of the Wolverhampton fans – I was very happy with all their support. Now, I think it’s all going to go from here up. I really enjoyed it, I was very positively surprised by the fans’ reaction, and I believe I’m ready to build a great story here,” Andre said in June.

“I think my profile is to give my all on the pitch, and through that, other players follow suit. I intend to continue playing like this. Every match is about giving my all, doing my best so that this can affect the fans off the field as well.”

Wolves must build their team around Andre

Andre has returned to Wolves for pre-season, determined to reach even greater heights in 2025/26 after settling into the Premier League superbly.

The Brazilian is outstanding in possession, even when pressured by the opposition, offering a calming influence alongside the robust Gomes.

Statistic Per 90 average Rank in Premier League

Pass completion % 92.9% Top 1%

Tackles 3.31 Top 11%

Tackles won 2.00 Top 12%

Recoveries 7.06 Top 4%

Switches 0.55 Top 8%

As demonstrated by the above statistics, Andre is a top midfielder who doesn’t have many flaws in his game and will only get better as he gets older.

With Wolves close to signing two more players at least, it’s equally important that the former Fluminense man is someone they keep in 2025 and beyond.
