In an NBA Summer League opener that offered a tantalizing glimpse of the future, Chinese rookie Yang Hansen announced his arrival on the NBA stage with a polished all-around performance. The 20-year-old, a 16th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, contributed ten points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal, and three emphatic blocks as Portland dismantled the Golden State Warriors 106-73 in Las Vegas.

From the outset, Yang's court vision was unmistakable. A crisp bounce pass to Sidy Cissoko set the tone, with Cissoko opening the scoring for Portland. Moments later, Yang threaded a sublime pass to DJ Carton for an easy lay-up, helping the Trail Blazers surge to a 15-2 lead.

Yang's first basket came with nine minutes left in the second quarter, a deft drive past Isaiah Mobley that ended in a smooth lay-in. Portland's lead swelled to 21, buoyed further by Yang's unexpected three-pointer, a banked jumper that pushed the advantage to 46-34 at halftime.

The second half showcased Yang's footwork and finesse in the paint, deftly navigating the defense under the watchful eye of second-year center Donovan Clingan. His defensive prowess was equally on display, with three blocks punctuating his night, including a jaw-dropping rejection of Jackson Rowe that elicited gasps from the crowd.

Rayan Rupert and Caleb Love provided additional fireworks, combining for 41 points and further cementing Portland's dominance. The Trail Blazers' 33-point rout sets up a promising clash against the Memphis Grizzlies later on Saturday.
