Oasis: Gallagher kids joined by Pep Guardiola at Heaton Park

The children of Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited in Manchester to watch their dads back on stage, joined by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

More than 70,000 fans filled Heaton Park on Friday night for Oasis’s first homecoming gig in nearly 16 years.

Liam’s sons Lennon, 25, and Gene, 24, and Noel’s children Anais, 25, Donovan, 17, and Sonny, 14, were all spotted at the sold-out show. Gene posted a group photo on Instagram, calling it the “pic of the century”.

The Gallagher brothers walked onto the stage together at around 8:20 pm to huge cheers. Liam held Noel’s hand in the air, with his signature maracas in the other.

Crowds had already been singing Oasis classics before the band appeared, including a huge chorus of Live Forever.

Greater Manchester Police said the night passed “without incident”, although six arrests were made for offences including being drunk and disorderly, and five drones were seized for breaking airspace rules.

Assistant Chief Constable Matt Boyle praised the safe atmosphere, noting that extra officers had been deployed to ensure the safety of fans.

Ahead of the gig, Manchester City Council Leader Bev Craig said the city was ready for a “supersonic” series of shows and encouraged anyone without tickets to enjoy the atmosphere elsewhere in the city.

Temperatures were high, with Oasis urging fans to stay cool, wear sun hats and look after each other.

The five Heaton Park gigs follow comeback shows in Cardiff. Oasis will head to London, Edinburgh and Dublin over the summer.

The reunion comes 15 years after the brothers fell out at a Paris festival in 2009. Noel quit the band after a backstage row, saying he “couldn’t work with Liam a day longer”.

The tour has faced criticism over ticket prices, some rising from £148 to £355 due to “dynamic pricing”. The Government has promised to review how ticket pricing is handled.
