Everton and Newcastle United could be given a free shot at Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic as Parma don’t want to get involved at the current asking price.
That’s [according to Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/) and [Parma Today](https://www.parmatoday.it/sport/dallo-staff-a-ivanovic-giorni-decisivi-per-il-parma.html), who both cover Ivanovic today and mention the Premier League duo.
Gazzetta report that Ivanovic remains the hot name for Parma this summer as they look to strengthen their squad with a new striker.
An offer of €10m has already been made to Millwall but the Championship side weren’t interested and rejected it. They know there is strong interest from Everton and Newcastle and so have set the asking price at €16m instead.
That’s too high for Parma, whose CEO Federico Cherubini, does not intend to get into a battle with Everton or Newcastle for him. He’s already set his sights on an alternative as a result.
Parma today say similar. According to them Ivanovic is the first choice for Parma but competition from the Premier League is stiff. Everton and Newcastle are both pressing for the 20-year-old and so patience is needed.
Parma had wanted him signed by June 30th, but the matter has become complicated and remains complex for them, particularly given Millwall’s asking price.
The Italian side would also like to avoid getting involved in an auction and so have turned to a Plan B in Lorenzo Colombo at AC Milan.
That would suggest Everton and Newcastle have a free shot at the striker, if they wish to get serious and put a bid in at any point.
