Vitor Pereira will be looking to build on his successful period at Wolves last season, as he managed to comfortably steer the club away from relegation trouble.
Wolves have travelled to Portugal for pre-season training, where they will spend 10 days before returning to England for some warm-up fixtures ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Toti Gomes will feel incredibly comfortable in the temporary surroundings with the club, as they are staying in his hometown in the Algarve for this period in Portugal.
The experienced defender was a key component of Vitor Pereira’s squad last season, becoming a rock at the heart of the defence as they moved their way out of danger.
Toti Gomes will hope to be as involved as he was last season as Wolves look to move towards European contention, as their form under Pereira suggested they could achieve it.
Toti Gomes names the two players who are now leaders at Wolves
A number of key leaders have left the squad this summer, as Matheus Cunha and Rayan Aït-Nouri departed for Manchester United and Manchester City, respectively.
Rumours persist about a Nelson Semedo exit, as his contract expired on June 30; however, he has been offered a new contract, but he has yet to come to a decision.

This has led to speculation around the club about who could be the next captain of Wolves, and Toti Gomes is a contender, having worn the armband at the end of last season at times.
Toti Gomes has spoken to Wolves Express about his new role within the squad and the other players included in this leadership group.
He said: “We need to look at the players that are here and step up as well, and I think I’m one of those players, not just me but other guys in the team like Matt Doherty and Jose Sa.
“It is a big responsibility but a proud moment and a good moment when you are one of the captains from the team; it shows the respect that they are giving to you.
“Using the armband, it shows you need to give some respect and try to help by being one of the leaders from the team.”
The candidates to be Wolves captain next season
Toti Gomes is just one of the many players who could possibly be captain next season, with Nelson Semedo exploring his options away from Molineux.
The experienced defender has spent almost five years at the club and has been a consistent member of the team since joining.
Meanwhile an outside candidate for the Wolves captaincy is Jorgen Strand Larsen, who has become an integral part of the Wolves squad.

The candidates to be Wolves captain named by Toti Gomes, the Ireland international Matt Doherty and experienced goalkeeper Jose Sa are big figures in the Wolves dressing room.
Both players have had a major influence on the club, with the suggestion being Doherty may be the best candidate from his leadership role with the Republic of Ireland.
Doherty began his career in England with Wolves after joining from Bohemians, spending 10 seasons at the club initially until 2020 before returning to Molineux after a period away in 2023.
