Koby Brea wasted no time making a statement in his NBA Summer League debut with the Phoenix Suns.
The former Kentucky Wildcats sharpshooter put together an eye-popping performance, dropping 19 points on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Brea was red-hot from deep, knocking down four of his five attempts from beyond the arc. He also added three rebounds and a steal, helping power the Suns to an early summer league win.
Known for his smooth shooting stroke and ability to space the floor, Brea picked up right where he left off in Lexington. His confidence on the perimeter was evident, and he showed an improved ability to create his own shot, where NBA scouts will be keeping a close eye on throughout the week in Las Vegas.
After transferring to Kentucky for his final college season, Brea quickly became one of the Wildcats’ most consistent contributors. Now, he’s aiming to carve out a role with the Suns as a reliable 3-and-D wing option.
This strong start could be the first of many for Brea, who has proven time and again that he can rise to the moment. If he keeps this up, don’t be surprised to see him stick around on an NBA roster this fall.
For Big Blue Nation, it’s just more proof of Kentucky’s continued pipeline to the pros, and Koby Brea may be the latest success story.
