Mind-blowing stat confirms Jaguars have an elite pass rusher in Josh Hines-Allen

Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen wasn't able to crack ESPN's ranking of the top 10 pass rushers in the NFL but still managed to earn an honorable mention. That goes on to show that even though he didn't have a monster season like he did in 2023, he commands respect around the league. In fact, a recent stat goes on to show that the Jacksonville Jaguars have an elite playmaker, one who's been as productive as fellow edge rushers Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett, and Trey Hendrickson.

NFL analyst Tyler Jaggi posted a list of the most productive pass rushers the past three seasons, and Hines-Allen ranked sixth with a disruption rate of 20.6 percent. The only players with a better disruption rate than the former Kentucky Wildcat are Garrett, Hendrickson, Parsons, Joey Bosa, and Aidan Hutchinson. All things considered, that's some pretty company to be with.

Something that stands out about Hines-Allen's production is that he has only logged more than 10 sacks in a season once in the past three years. Simply put, he's making an impact even if his numbers don't reflect it. But wait! There's more.

The Virginia native is only one of four pass rushers who tallied 25 sacks or more and 150+ pressures (h/t @JVillansPod on Twitter) since 2023. The other three? Garrett, Parsons, and Hendrickson.

When you add it all up, it's understandable why Hines-Allen wasn't thrilled to be snubbed from a list of the best players to come out of the 2019 draft. He's been highly productive and still isn't getting as much attention as he deserves.

Josh Hines-Allen can put on another monster season for the Jaguars in 2025

As productive as Josh Hines-Allen has been the past three years, he could put on his best season with the Jacksonville Jaguars yet. He's got a handful of things going in his favor to pull it off.

For starters, the 2019 first-round selection is back at his playing weight after being asked to bulk up last year. The extra weight hindered his conditioning and in turn his production. He's now noticeably trimmer.

On the other hand, Allen will get more favorable matchups with Arik Armstead returning to defensive tackle and Maason Smith expected to break out in Year 2. This is the most talented defensive tackle group the Jags have had in years, and it will help their pass rusher face fewer double teams.

Last but not least is the arrival of defensive end Anthony Campanile. With Ryan Nielsen gone, the defense should see an uptick in production.

Rightly, several local voices are high on both Hines-Allen and bookend pass rusher Travon Walker and believe the duo gives the Jags their most trustworthy position in 2025.

The bottom line is that everything is set for Josh Hines-Allen to have another career year. If everything goes according to plan, he may at last get the recognition he hasn't gotten.
