Liverpool are reportedly prepared to hand Rodrygo his preferred role in Arne Slot's team in an attempt to win the race for the Real Madrid winger.
Spanish outlet Defensa Central reports that Madrid are now prepared to sell Rodrygo for a fee of around £86.4m (€100m). Los Blancos officials are set to meet with the 24-year-old's representatives to discuss his future after a disappointing FIFA Club World Cup campaign.
Rodrygo started just one of Xabi Alonso's first six games in charge and was left on the bench in an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. His future has long been up in the air amid Carlo Ancelotti's departure and his lack of a star role following Kylian Mbappe's arrival last summer.

Liverpool are willing to hand Rodrygo his much-desired left-wing starting role should he opt to move to Anfield. He is "closer than ever" to leaving Madrid and a Premier League switch could be on the cards.
Arsenal are frontrunners for the Brazil international amid Mikel Arteta's intention to overhaul his attack. The impending arrival of Noni Madueke from Chelsea may prompt the player to reconsider an Emirates move, especially with Luis Diaz potentially on the move.
Diaz has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich ahead of a potential move to the Allianz Arena, paving the way for Rodrygo to come in as his replacement on the left side of Slot's attack. It's also not the first time the Merseysiders have shown interest in him.

Jurgen Klopp discovered the Selecao star during his teenage years in Brazil and the club's transfer chiefs wanted him to become his first signing. There was an opportunity to do a deal at £2.5m but he eventually moved to the Bernabeu where he's been a huge success.
Rodrygo has been a key player for Madrid despite a difficult past season, thriving in various attacking roles under Ancelotti. He bagged 17 goals and nine assists in the 2023-24 season. He'd already earned his former manager's admiration, with the Italian branding him a "special" talent.
