Matheus Cunha sends'ready'message after first week at Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes and Leny Yoro respond

Manchester United are well and truly getting stuck into pre-season, with the first week of training coming to an end.

While only one new starter has been signed this summer, the atmosphere at Carrington looks high.

Manchester United have had a slow transfer window since the club signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m on June 1st.

The Brazilian has been an instant hit, with Cunha revealing that the decision to join United was an easy one, with his fandom of the club as a child playing a big role.

Cunha has been handed the number 10 shirt for United, with Marcus Rashford being stripped of the honours before his exit has even been confirmed. It was claimed Cunha wanted the number 10 due to his idol Wayne Rooney wearing it at the club.

So in training all week, Cunha has had the 10 on his shirt and he has now sent a message.

Matheus Cunha completes first week of training with Manchester United

Week one at a new club is usually very important in terms of making an immediate good first impression on teammates and coaches.

So it was excellent news to hear that Cunha has impressed United figures at Carrington with his lethal finishing leaving many in awe after the struggles in goals last season cost the club.

Cunha has now taken to Instagram after his week of training to send a message accompanied by pictures of him in action with teammates.

Cunha wrote: “Ready for the new chapter”, accompanied by a heart on fire emoji with pictures throughout the first week of his career at United.

In the comments under Cunha’s post, some of his new teammates sent him responses.

Bruno Fernandes wrote: “Vamo que vamo”, followed by a flexing emoji. This translates in English to “Let’s go, let’s go.”

Along similar lines, Leny Yoro also responded by simply writing: “Lets go!”

Earlier this week, Joshua Zirkzee responded to Cunha as the pair were spotted forming a partnership already in training. So it is safe to say the Brazilian is settling in well.

Matheus Cunha set to make Manchester United debut next week

It has been an exciting week in terms of seeing the United players returning for pre-season training, but more-so getting the chance to watch new signing Cunha in action.

Through the several clips to be shared by the club, fans are very excited by what Cunha offers United in terms of his dribbling and also scoring acumen.

However, this is only training clips which is hard to really judge on, as a game environment offers something completely different.

Well, we won’t have to wait long as it is just seven days until United face Leeds in Sweden, which kicks off pre-season and should see Cunha debut in the famous red kit.

Cunha already looks a level above most of the team, hopefully his levels lead to the rest of the squad rising with him over the coming weeks and months.
