Despite his youth, 21-year-old center-back Giorgio Scalvini has already made 107 first-team appearances for Atalanta.
At the age of 17, he made his Atalanta debut in October 2021 and has since become one of Europe’s top young defenders.
With Jonny Evans retiring and Victor Lindelof leaving after running out of contract, the Red Devils could look to reinforce in the defence.

Standing at an impressive 6 feet 4 inches, Scalvini is a right-footed centre-half.
In addition to having excellent positioning and feeling at ease playing out of the back, he uses his large physique to make tackles and intercept opposition passes.
And now Atalanta have named their asking price for the defender.
According to the i Paper, it would take an offer north of £50m to even begin a conversation with Atalanta for Scalvini.

The report also mentions Newcastle have carried out preliminary work on a possible deal, but the 21-year-old also has interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Juventus and a host of Serie A clubs who have been monitoring him for several years.
Although Scalvini has not yet been officially valued, the i Paper has been informed by reliable sources that it would cost at least £50 million to convince Atalanta to make a move.
Scalvini spent most of last season on the treatment table with a shoulder injury but Atalanta rate him highly and won’t let him leave for a fee below £50m.
However, there are limited funds available, and the Red Devils are currently focused on reinforcing the frontline.
Matheus Cunha has been officially signed alongside Diego Leon, who have both been in training in recent days.
With Atalanta now confirming their asking price for Scalvini, the Red Devils could potentially look to pursue a move.
