Brotherhood Watch: Knueppel Struggles, Sion Does Better And Filipowski Flips The Script

Friday was a huge day for Brotherhood member Kon Knueppel. Why?

Well, first he signed a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand and then he started his NBA career in summer league play against the Utah Jazz.

It wasn’t a great night on the court - Knueppel shot just 1-8 and finished with five points. He also had four assists and a rebound. But as this link points out, summer league doesn't play to his strengths.

Faring somewhat better was former Duke teammate Sion James, who shot 4-7 for eight points and passing out three assists of his own.

Faring the best of all: Kyle Filipowski, who had a night for the Jazz. The former Devil finished with 32 points on 12-17 and 3-7 on threes for 32 points. He also had six rebounds and five assists. It was a great night for the second year player. It looks more and more like Utah cleaned up getting him in the second.

Still, it wasn’t enough as Charlotte won, 111-105.

By the way, Jordan Brand now has deals with Knueppel, Zion Williamson, Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero, Brandon Ingram and Jared McCain.

In other words, not only is he hiring a ton of Dukies to keep the brand going, there are currently no Tar Heels worth signing.

You’re welcome, MJ.
