Former England cricket captain Stuart Broad sends two word message to Anthony Elanga after…

Anthony Elanga is officially a Newcastle United player following his £55 million move from Nottingham Forest.

It took a while for the deal to get done after some issues with agents, and the fact that Newcastle's recruitment team are operating a skeleton crew lately with no sporting director in place.

Bringing Anthony Elanga into the club is a massive boost for Eddie Howe, and Newcastle United, but it's going to cause Nottingham Forest no end of issues.

Not least because Morgan Gibbs-White also looks set to be leaving The City Ground. The pair was monumental in Forest's impressive run last season, and they could now be very flat in attack if they don't manage to replace what they've lost.

Stuart Broad clearly didn't want Anthony Elanga to leave Nottingham Forest

This sentiment was reflected brilliantly by former England cricketer Stuart Broad, a Nottingham man himself, who commented on Anthony Elanga's Instagram post announcing his arrival at the Toon with two words:

"I'm sad"

Another Forest fan commented, "Forest fan 💔 he's been amazing for us, wishing you guys all the success... Hopefully we won't get relegated 😂". The fact that their fanbase is now worried about relegation after losing Elanga shows just how highly rated he is by them.

Murphy didn't look too pleased to see Elanga in the First Day video

On another Instagram post, one of three that Elanga posted on Friday following his announcement, the Newcastle players were all very welcoming with messages from Will Osula (obviously), Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock and Harrison Ashby.

Also showing his support of the new signing was Jacob Murphy, who will be competing with Elanga for the spot in Eddie Howe's starting XI. Fans had commented that Murphy looked "fuming" in the "First Day" video, but his words on Instagram tell a different story.

"Finally 🤣 let’s go Elly 🤝🏽"
