Arsenal have officially confirmed the departure of midfielder Michal Rosiak following the expiration of his contract, as announced on the club’s website. The 18-year-old is among a group of academy players released as part of the club’s annual review, which also includes the exits of Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Khayon Edwards, and several other young talents.
Rosiak, a versatile midfielder known for his technical ability and determination, joined the Gunners from Polish side Ruch Chorzów in 2022. He made 29 appearances for the Under-18s, scoring three goals and registering three assists, and featured 12 times for the Under-21s during the 2024/25 season.
Despite his promising development and standout moments particularly in the UEFA Youth League, Arsenal have opted not to renew his contract. Rosiak now becomes a free agent in search of the next step in his career.

His departure comes amid fierce competition within a deep midfield pool at Hale End, where he struggled for consistent game time in his final season.

In addition to Rosiak, Arsenal have confirmed that forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has joined Swiss club Lausanne after the expiry of his deal, while striker Khayon Edwards has completed a move to Portuguese side Estoril. Both players had long been considered exciting prospects within the academy setup.

Among them, the Oulad M’Hand brothers, Salah-Eddine and Ismail stand out as particularly notable exits. Salah-Eddine had previously trained with the first team and was once seen as a future senior player, but persistent injuries and competition curtailed his progression.
The departures reflect Arsenal’s continued emphasis on high standards within their youth system. With only a small number of academy players progressing to the first team such as recent standouts Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, the club’s developmental pathway remains intensely competitive.
While their journeys with Arsenal have come to an end, many of the released players are expected to find new opportunities elsewhere as they look to reignite their professional careers.
