West Ham could now line up an approach for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The 28-year-old departed Everton at the end of the season as his contract ticked down after nine years of service at Goodison Park.
This has seen the 11-cap England international be linked with a whole host of clubs, with the likes of Manchester United showing an interest.
It now appears that the Hammers and Graham Potter are in the running to land the striker as a contract offer looks set to be tabled in East London.

West Ham to make Calvert-Lewin approach
It is fair to say that the Irons are in need of new forward options moving closer to the new season, after such a frustrating time last time out.

With Niclas Fullkrug and Evan Ferguson both failing to make a positive impression, a fresh face in the forward line could make sense this summer.

As a result, a free transfer swoop for the ex-Toffees star could be executed by the claret and blue outfit, although wages could represent a stumbling block.
This has seen former midfielder Martin Allen suggest a short-term, bonus-based contract as Potter weighs up a move for Calvert-Lewin at the London Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “With a player like Calvert-Lewin, who is talented, he will be on the radar of Graham Potter.
“When you look into the stats and he’s only scored three goals in three years, then you’re really struggling for positives.
“If they were to sign him, they’d have to put him on a contract that is at a low wage with an appearance fee for every time he actually plays to top up his wages.
“If he scores, he’ll get more, so his wages can come back up if he deserves it. If he then plays enough games at a good level, his wages can go back up because he will be on good money at Everton, but he’s got to prove himself.
“As a manager, I would want him to prove his ability to me, the players, the fans and the board before getting a bigger contract.
“He can play and score goals, but he’s no good if he’s injured. I’d give him a one-year deal to put himself in the shop window.”

West Ham to land Calvert-Lewin transfer coup
The idea of playing for a bigger club may be attractive to the Englishman, but regular Premier League football may catch his eye more.
Under Potter, Calvert-Lewin would likely be afforded a starting role when fit, something which may not be available elsewhere.
This could see the striker form a useful partnership with the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville on the flanks, a factor that could be devastating next campaign.
