Ruben Amorim is weighing up a transfer following the injury blow.
Manchester United have been dealt a massive injury blow ahead of their pre-season as Ruben Amorim weighs up a replacement, with two players already identified.
Man United begin their pre-season next weekend ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
They travel to Sweden to face old rivals Leeds United before flying out to the United States for the Premier League Summer Series, with games against West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton scheduled.
It will mark Amorin's first pre-season with Man United following his appointment last November.
But his plans have been dealt a major blow as Andre Onana has been ruled out of pre-season, according to the Telegraph.
Onana has suffered a hamstring injury this week as players reported for training.
He could be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
The report claims Amorim is now weighing up whether to buy a goalkeeper before the Premier League season gets underway next month.
Man United have already been linked with Aston Villa's Emiliano MartÃnez and Paris Saint-Germain's Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Martinez is expected to leave Villa Park this summer, with the Red Devils keeping tabs on his situation. Given Onana's injury, Amorim could ramp up the club's interest to secure his services ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17.
Donnarumma is another name that has been mentioned. He is out of contract at the end of the 2025/26 season, with several clubs, including Man United, looking to sign him on a free transfer.
But, of course, if Man United wanted the Italian this summer then they would have to pay a fee as he still under contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
